Christen Grove – Case Study

Author: Leanna Aitken | Posted: 11th November 2016 | Category: Uncategorized

My name is Christen, I’m a 41-year-old and I am a support worker for Educare Staffing. Being a support worker wasn’t always my ambition after following various paths, I came across the care sector by accident, I’ve been working in the industry ever since. I support individuals daily and apply the knowledge I’ve gained through Educare’s training and placements to suit their needs. I feel as though the practical element of placements benefits me more as each day is different and presents its own challenged and rewards. I’ve undergone a fair amount of training courses, some exciting… Some not so. But as soon as I enrolled in Educare’s Support Worker program I was given 2 days of engaging, in-house training. The course was different to anything I’ve received in the past and I took home bucket-loads of fresh knowledge and skills. After the course I was put on a placement with various vulnerable people, who each had their own difficulties I helped them overcome. I did this by listening to their needs, reffering back to my supervisors and ensured they got the support they required to go about their day. I like to think I give the job my all, and provide the the best care and friendly service to the people I care for. Educare support me by contacting me with feedback and congratulate me on my efforts. They also offer constructive advice on how I can improve my skills further. Another fantastic aspect to Educare is that they are always on the other end of the phone 24/7 so contacting them is NEVER an issue. They answer my enquries when I’m unsure. Finally, Educare offer additional courses and skills for learning to their staff on a regular basis. I would certainly recommend a friend to come and join Educare.
